What Makes a Great Tasting Hot Wheat Cereal?

A high quality hot wheat cereal should have wheat as the dominant note in both the aroma and flavor profiles. Ideally, it should also have some toasty notes to add to the character of the wheat. Some starchiness is expected, but the starchy intensity should not be higher than the wheat intensity. The texture of the cereal should be soft and some gelatinousness is expected. Some fibrousness is also expected – but it should not be gritty or sandy.
